Welcome to The Surgery Albany
Below you’ll find important information about accessing our services, including surgery hours, fees, after-hours care, and how we support you during your healthcare journey.
Surgery Hours
Monday to Friday: 8:30am – 5:30pm
Vaccination Clinics: Held on scheduled Saturdays
Closed: Sundays & Public Holidays
Please note: We are not open for general appointments on Saturdays.
Fees
Our practice is a private billing clinic, and payment is usually required on the day of your appointment. We accept EFTPOS, MasterCard, and Visa.
Children under 16 years of age are routinely bulk billed.
Some services maybe bulk billed under Medicare depending on the doctor and the type of appointment.
Please note that some services are not covered by Medicare and will incur a private fee. These include:
Medicals for work, school, sports, immigration, and driving licences
Requests made when the patient is not present (e.g. repeat scripts, or discussing results with a parent or carer)
All doctors at our clinic are independent practitioners and set their own fees.
Billing arrangements may vary between doctors, including bulk billing eligibility.
If you have any questions about fees, please speak with your doctor during your appointment.
Treatment Room Fees
Additional fees may apply for procedures in our Treatment Room (e.g., wound care, dressings, injections). Charges reflect the complexity of the service and materials used.

Emergency & Urgent Appointments
Please advise reception if your condition is urgent or requires immediate attention.
If no appointment is available, a practice nurse will assess you and recommend appropriate next steps.
Prescriptions
Request prescriptions during your consultation when possible.
Alternatively, book a phone consultation to discuss medication needs.
Scripts requested outside a consultation incur a $20 fee.
Please allow at least 2 working days for processing and call after 10am for script enquiries.
Test Results
All test results are reviewed by your GP. Based on the outcome, your doctor may:
Contact you directly, or
Ask our staff to provide follow-up instructions.
Unless your GP has advised you otherwise, we recommend booking an appointment to discuss your test results. This helps ensure you receive the most appropriate advice and care.
You’re also welcome to call the clinic after one week to check if your results are back — preferably after 10am.
Please note:
Most results are uploaded to your My Health Record by the provider within one week.
Reception staff can confirm if results have been received, but they cannot interpret results or provide clinical advice.
Home Visits
Home visits may be offered at your GP’s discretion. Please speak with reception to request a visit.
